need help with my laptop

so here is the problem I have a laptop dell inspiron 8200 and somehow when I connect it to my router somehow I can't connect to the internet this is a wired router by the way any suggestions on what I should do to get my internet going any help would greatly appreciated thank you!

wat internet provider? router? and how are u connecting it?

MTS (manitoba) dsl router wired linksys cable/dsl router and just using the supplied lan cable

Um, Look at the router instructions - my one had a special place you had to plus the internet cable.

when you are pluged into your router, type this address in, 192.168.1.1 (usualy finds router) and see if you can see your router. if you can you should be able to configure it to go on the internet.
