2ms LCD monitors!!!

Yes to me crt's are still better. Though I would like an lcd but don't want to pay that much for it.
I'd like it just because, ohh well, I have a 21" CRT monster and it's not nice to carry it around. :D I go to lan parties a few times a year, go to my mothers house and take my pc with me (luckily most of the time there is a few spare monitors so I don't have to take this) but it's a pain in the ass to carry it.
Must weigh something like 40Kg :D and because it's so large it's not easy to get a good grip on it like u can get if u are lifting weights or something. Also sometimes u really need to work ur brain to find out how u can make it fit in the car trunk. :) So I just hate the size/weight, but I'll still stick to it since 21" is big enough and I can't really spend my money on a new monitor.

Not to mention mounting it on the wall too. I did that for awhile but took it back down because my 15" was too small to see anything.
gotta admit you got me there, that is one thing you just don't
see for CRT, lol.
if I actually had a system that could run games at 1280x1024,
and LCDs did not have the "real black" issue, then i'd love 'em..

*hears a scream telling him to buy a new system*

Time for a job, these intel CPUs aren't gonna last me much longer
for gaming, I can barely manage decent fps in css! :p
(decent in my terms is like 30-60 fps)

That's why you get a nice 62" sony plasma screen... lol.... I don't there's a vid. card that could support that resolution...

lol, those things are so freaking expensive..
Jac, you're rig makes me feel pathetic to be a gamer...

MEH! is all I can say.
I have in front of me a 19" CRT. I LOVE IT.
$140 for it, much better than spending $400 on an LCD that:
1) can't push anything past 1280x1024
2) They only do 1280x1024 native, meaning if you run
at anything lower than that, it looks all blurry and distorted, CRT monitors do not.
3) the back lights on LCD monitors make it impossible to see
real black, playing doom3 on LCD sucked.
now that i'm on CRT, it looks MUCH better.

so, IMO, LCD monitors are not worth it.
then again.. I have a huge desk, I could just as easily
fit a 21" crt on this desk, the only real plus I see to LCD is, saving space.
I wouldn't spend an extra $200+ just to save a little space, for $90 I could buy a bigger desk!

Very true! :D

Plasma screens are ok. They tend to "ghost" if you pause on one image for too long.

I'd rather have a nice Apple Cinema 30" LCD Monitor. Nice, clean aluminum lines. :D

I have to use my dad's system to play games...
I asked for a computer for my birthday...
and got a 300mhz with 390 megs of ram, and a geforce2mx.
can't even play cs1.6 on this pos...

AHAHAHAHA!!! Wow...it's alright. Just save up and build your own system.
