What is RAID on SATA hard drives ?
I do not know because I am using IDE on my current system, and on my next system I build, I want to use SATA. But first I would like to know about SATA and the RAID feature before I buy.

Also SATA 150 = SATA 1.5gbs ? right ?
Also what is SATA ll ?

Sorry for the newbie question ?

RAID 0 - Striped Array
Combines at least 2 (ideally) identical hard drives into one to increase performance.
Failure of any drive results in loss of all data.

RAID 1 - Mirrored Array
Copies one disk data to the other ongoing. If either drive fails, the other continues to function as a single drive until the failed drive is replaced. Drives ideally should be identical.

A serial ata II Hard drive would provide better performance than SATA provided the motherboard supports it. 3 Gb/s transfer rate.

However, real world performance benefits are nothing startling. The best you'll get is a few MB/s extra transfer rate and a few seconds quicker level load time in games.
