Won't boot from CD-R

In order to burn a Bootable disc you have to burn an image to the cd using something like Nero.

The images is normally .iso format, but there are a few others. When you burn, click "burn image" dont just burn the files to the disc

I agree, but you have to burn a bootable image to the cd first before you can add the files... This boot image is written on the first sector of the cd and contains info needed to boot to cd such as emulation type, starting sector, etc. These boot images end in .ima, .img, .bin, or .dat and are usually less than 1.44 MB. Think of it as putting a bootable floppy on a cd... If you dont put a bootable image, then the BIOS will skip boot to the cd. .iso bootable images you find such as linux have the boot image already incorporated into the .iso so all you have to do is burn it.
