for free hosting, use www.1asphost.com, its great and what's more, you can use asp web programming for extended user interactivity.

Personally, I'd use WYSIWYG, there's just no point learning HTML anymore. Sure, its quite useful being able to see whats going on and for troubleshooting, but I wouldnt really bother. Frontpage is OK, but I'd use flash if I could, there's some cool stuff you can do there
