Help needed!

Hi I am having trouble installing the internet 6 service update from windows update. I download everything fine and get to about 75% of the installation and then it says it couldn't complete the installation try closing some applications and try again I have tried installing it in safe mode but it still wont work. Since the initial probs I have been using a different browser but now I need IE 6 for my daughter to get onto MSN messenger! I have tried turning off everything that is running but I still cannot get it to install.

Its the active X controls. Download all again, all patches. Then try again

why exactly do you need IE 6 patches to get on msn messenger?????? anyway

Because you cannot download messenger unless you are running IE 6!

Actully, you can download MSN Messenger from another browser....

Thanks for the link but it says that I need to be running windows XP , I am on ME
