first, what is your budget? I would get a Seagate 7200.9 instead of a Hitachi Deskstar.

I would not cheap out on your Hdd since that is where all your files will be stored, Here is a list of the good ones From Best to Good

I despise Maxtor. Mine just crapped out on me.

Very nice. Everything looks good to me. I haven't heard any bad things with the Hitachi drives so I'm going to say give it a try.
