Well, I recently bought a computer (one I am using now) and my son (17 years old) is on it alot. I am worried that he might be looking at some sort of pornogrpahy but I havent been able to catch him doing it. I am farely new to computers and I really do not know how to get into these things and search around for any files. Is there anyway that I would be able to search through the computer and look for stuff that he may have downloaded? I think he uses a program called Limewire because it always opens up when I get on the computer.

So, basically, I need any help for just seeing if he is looking at any types of pornography.

Thank you so very much,
Zachary S.

why do you care if your son looks at porn? isnt that his bussiness? i understand that you're a "concerned parent" but give him some privacy

Well I am his parent and he has to obey what I say and I have full responsibilty over him until he is 18. I am just wanting to check and see what he is looking at. Im not going to confrotn him or anything of that matter....I just like to know what my child is looking at while browsing the internet and using that Limewire program.

limewire is a program used for downloading stuff most people use it for downloading music although it can be used to download porn, it is very likely that your son is looking at porn but if you really want to know what he is looking at just check the internet history but i dont think there is a way you can check what has been downloaded on limewire, keep in mind that if you say anything to him he will probably get very upset

Well, just search for it. Use Windows' search to look for filenames like "porn" or "sex." Also, you can check Internet Explorer's temporary internet files to see if there is any pornographic web browsing going on. To do that, open up Internet Explorer, and go to Tools > Internet Options... Then click the Settings button under the General tab, then click View Files... But yeah, there are also internet monitoring programs available and such that can alert you if stuff like that is going on. Search around on Google.

Well, I searched and nothing came up. I also check the internet options thing and nothing came up either. Is there a way to see what videos he may have recently watched in Windows Media Player or in Real Player?

If you go into Windows media player click on file and on the bottom it should liste a few of the last viewed videos.

Well maybe not. Im proud of him. But he may just be hiding it, or looking at it then deleting the files. If I was to take the computer to a technician for soem work to be done on it, but didnt ask him to search for pornography, would he be able to locate it and tell me. Because I would feel a little awkward asking soemone I dotn know to do that.
