Good LCD brand?

when looking at the specs wat does ms mean? corse some are liek 8ms and some are 12ms, wat does that mean and wats the optimun i should get? and wats a gd brightness (eg 250 cd/m2) and contrast (eg 500:1)?

ms = milliseconds

Typically, the fewer milliseconds, the better.

I would personally recommend Viewsonic or Samsung as the best LCDs depending on model.

I still say dell. Even though some of their pc's really stink, the quality of their lcd's are really nice.

Yeah, Dell, Acer, NEC and ProView make some of the best ones in terms of quality and performance. Viewsonic and Samsung's LCD's are decent in picture quality, but usually are faster in terms of response rates (at least for the price...NEC's 8ms LCD's are expensive).

i got the acer 1914s-8, which is a 19inch with 8ms response, AMAZING picture quality and i bought it at a very good price. I would go with Acer all the way

Acer makes TONS of things. They make their own laptops, LCD monitors and they even make laptops for companies like HP, Dell, Compaq etc. (except for Sony)
