well the ones that are categorized under laptops are the so dimm, so when i check for the compatibility of the laptops in the sdram category, it only displays desktop compatibility

SDRAM is for desktops. Laptops primarily use SO-DIMM DDR.

That's all you have to worry about. I think when they say SDRAM, they are just using it as a generic term for RAM. Like I said, SDRAM is a desktop RAM architecture.
