Setting up a network

right...

all you should need to do is make sure that they are on the same network, it could be that your router is assigning physically different networks for the wired and wireless interfaces.

the router, (when recieving a packet destined for a specific host should forward to that host, whether it's internal or external).
when they are on the asme network try to ping one machine from the other, Ping [machine name] or ping [ip address]...

if that works, make sure that the server service is runing and see if you can see the shared files/folders on your network...

Once yuo've used the network wizard thingy you *should* see a conection called local network connection, a bridged network joins two networks together.

hope you don't think i am hijacking your thread steve. but i have a question.
once you have run your wizard, what does the connection show up as?
i ran it on my two, and the second computer showed as BRIDGED??
is that correct? and also it would not hook up to the internet. i suspect it might be my router.
woz

On a wired network usally you don't even need to run network wizard to get access to the internet. Mine doesn't show up any different then if i had the internet plugged right into my computer.
