GeForce 6800 GS

what we need to do is organize a computerforums.org official testing convention. so we can all get together and test all the freaking new cards and then fight about it. :D obviously the event would be 18+ wouldnt want the kids to have to watch

It's based on the 110nm process? I would've expected better of nVIDIA, considering the X1K family uses the 90nm process.

The new 6800GS is apparently based on the NV42 core but has a 256 bit memory interface allowing it to outperform the 6600GT and provide stiff competition to the X1600.

That's good. I think it's actually called the 6800 XT, because nVIDIA.com lists out the 6 series as: 6800 Ultra, 6800 GT, 6800, 6800 XT. o_O

I'm not sure what the deal is with Nvidia now. They got so many 6800's it's mind boggling. Here's some more:

6800XT and 6800LE. Apparently NVIDIA has already got those out already. The XT supposedly has eight pipelines and four geometry engines, with a 325MHz core and 350MHz (DDR700) memory on a 256 bit memory bus with 128Mb of memory, and supposedly supports SLI. The LE apparently clocks the GPU at the same 325MHz but only runs the memory at 300MHz (DDR600).

The performance is supposed to be 2.6 billion pixels and 325 million vertices per second, somewhat higher than the LE's 2.4 billion pixels and 300 million vertices per second.
