Why get an SLI board if your friend is only getting one gpu? I'd go to a standard motherboard, no SLI, then take the difference and add it to how much he's willing to spend on the graphics card, then maybe he could get a 6800.

well he isnt going to run sli till later on down the road. he was planninng to overclock the gpu to a 6800gt or more. but he just wants a good system asap. i already have some stuff that i am goining to sell him so it would b ok. can u give me a link to a better psu?
