Hi there!
something is wrong with my pc...
it takes me about 20 "bar-cycles" (the little loading bar below the windows xp logo ;)) until my machine starts loading my user settings (until i hear the windows startup sound). i think this is a bit too much, considering my computer scores about 7000 3d2005 marks (non-overclocked)...

after a fresh install of windows xp, it took less than a single bar-cycle, and now....

im wondering which application is causing this, ive got the following services loading at every startup:

programs
prog.gif

Could be any of those things. The Stardock program caught my attention - could be that, but it's hard to tell.

try clearing the prefetch folder and disable prefetching...

To clear prefetch:
Start~>Run
type prefetch
click ok
delete everything

To disable prefetch:
run regedit
go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters
Set "EnablePrefetcher" to 0

Info: whenever you run a program, it stores data in the prefetch folder. When you reboot, it will take longer cause it has to read the prefetch and prepare the programs in memory beforehand so that when you start those programs, it will startup faster the second time you run them.
