I am building a new PC and i have two MOBOs.

One currently has an AMD XP 2000 on it and the other has a celeron on it. I believe the AMD is 2.0 GHZ/1.6 GHZ (it gave two measurements), and the celeron is 1.4GHZ

Which one would be an all around better processor/motherboard choice?

Another thing, I have RAM that works with my intel mobo, but it does NOT work with the AMD one. So is it worth using the AMD one and buying some ram?

Thanks :)

a 2ghz amd is pretty high end for amd id buy some cheap ram (50-100) (1gig) and youll be golden:)

Hai, Par the cheap ram bit NEVER buy cheap ram, You can get a stick of 512 for 35-50 or two sticks of 256 for 40

Cool, thanks guys. Another question; i assume the mobo that i have the celeron in would NOT accept the AMD?

thanks

hahah yeah i guess you're right :) Im just frugal with $$ and didnt wanna buy new ram :p If i dont end up building two pcs, ill still have some nice parts

just as a question, how noticeable do you think the difference btw the celeron and the amd would be?
