A Few Needy Questions

Well im building a computer for myself for the first time(i have helped others)
and needed to ask some questions!

First. Which graphics card?

This is the Nvidia 7800 geforce GT it has 256 mb and 20 pipes

This is the Nvidia 6800 geforce GT it has a 512 instead of 256 and only 16 pipes

Which card is faster? Which is overall better give me all details please.

Does Rpm really matter?

I don't know if i should get a expensive 10,000rpm hardrive with 8mb cache or a 7200rpm with 16mb cache does rpm make a big difference? Does cache?

Memory-
Is it compatable? I found 2gig(2X1gb) dual channel ram at PC2 4200. My motherboard(the highest speed of ram i could find for a mother board) is only
The highest i could find was PC3200 it was for AMD. Can anyone tell me what to do?

omg get the 7800gt. 512 megs of ram with a cpu of 6800 is way weaker than 256 megs of ram with a cpu of 7800. if you get the 6800gt 512 meg i will come down to where you live and slap you for being dumb..... im just kidding. you wanna know which one is faster. well the 7800gt is twice as fast than the 6800gt. so getting a 7800gt is like getting two 6800gt in sli. the cpu of 6800 sucks compared to 7800 cpu. if you have lots of ram and a crappy cpu you cant use that ram effectivly. and 512 megs of ram is not that important theses days. 256 is more than enough.

get the 7800GT, the 512mb on the 6800GT is useless. I would go for the 16mb cache hdd, and your mobo doesnt support DDR2.

ahmm, get the ati 1800, apparently it beats the 7800gt.
never thought id be saying 7800 is old news so quickly.
dont take this post to heart, because i just formed this opinion based on the thread about 7800 vs 1800

no AMD mobo supports DDR2...YET. The new M2 socket (coming around spring time) will. Get the X1800XL if you really want an ATi card, either choice is fine.
