quake 4 or fear??? same day release....

Yeah, I haven't played Quake 4 of course, but I was never actually a lover anyway of 3 (never tried previous versions)

I've tried F.E.A.R though, and Its great, honestly. I've played the demo 3 times already in 2 days. It makes me want to keep playing. Theres so much too it. The graphics are great, and the Physics system...wow...
(You have to put all the CPU bound settings on HIGH to see the real effect of effects bouncing off one another, etc Its just fantastic to see)

yeah i agree with you kage, all my options are maxed to hell except aa and softshadows and res is at 1024. THe shells, the wall breakin in with bullet holes, all the sparks, its just an amazing game.... i think i will definately get fear over quake 4.

infact im going to go play the multiplayer demo right now again lol...

I was playing the Single Player, but yeah, its great.

I could do the same as you, but at 800x600 (though I could on 1024x768, it just looks sharper at 800x600) and get about 30-55FPS Not bad I don't think.

We'll have to see about Quake 4 when it comes out though, huh?

Physics engines will be worth looking forward to in the future.
To me, its what makes a game realistic, as well as the graphics of course.
The mind notices niggles in physics, but games are getting better at realistically showing them.

It wouldnt be the money issue for me. It would more or less be the time issue.
