What software is used to make this....?

I want to make my own grafix and stuff. I this picture from ATI they have those gargoyles. Do those ppl make it from scratch? or do they work from a previous picture?

people mostly use photoshop for that professional stuff like that, how they do it...I have not a clue.

man ya noobs! lol, yes they use photoshop. and yes they generate those from scratch.. how can you say something like do they start that from scratch.. i mean if they can make video cards.. i'm pretty sure drawing a little sketch to advertise their videocards isnt too difficult...

Yes, the compositing of that image would have been done in Photoshop.

As for the gargoyles, they wouldn't have been made in a 2D package like that.
They would have been made by ATI within a 3D package like 3D Studio MAX or Maya, and then rendered out as images.
