problem with windows

hey, i have had my computer reinstalled lately and ive noticed that it crashes alot more often than usual
all the time when it does tho the taskbar is non functional, so no start menu or anything on it.. please help anyone if you know of a windows update that can fix this ??

It's usally a program running in the background that causes windows to freeze. most of the time it's not windows.

its usually this thing called CCAPP.EXE

ccApp runs on my machine too.

It seems to belong to Norton (I've got AV2003 and PF2003 running), and it eats your RAM for lunch. That'll have something to do with Windows freezing up.

wtf i wasted a fiver on norton and fought it was good... is there a way of shutting it down when u dont need it?

disable it. right click>disable auto protect

i managed to shut it down permanently, damn my comp it soo much faster
