Fx5500 or Fx5200

The 5500 of course. Its newer, so will play games better than the 5200 will :p

if u want to play bf2 I'd suggest u look at some better cards. The 5500 should be able to play it but not with any great graphics or good FPS.

I've got a 5200 (256Mb version). It's junk, a total waste of money at any price. It runs BF2 at 30FPS on low at 800x600, 15-20 on higher res, and the same again on medium. High, it's like looking at a photo album or a slideshow.

Get the 5500, or save up more money and get something even better.

Exactly. The 5 model series aren't very good for Direct X-9 games really.
They just aren't built to handle them, and are just budget cards really.

I would ask you to at least get a 6 model series, like the 6600GT which costs about 150-160 pounds where I am. That would play new games like BF2 very well, and if you have a good computer too, you may be able to play at Medium/High settings.

get the xfx 6200 its completely worth it. it can play bf2 at medium settings because bf2 needs 5700 or higher. so if you get the 6200 wich is like 13-20bucks more you can play it lots better.

I would really not suggest going with either the 5200 or 5500, they're outdated as hell. I could probably find one the trash cands behind Nvidia Headquarters :)
