Finally!! Someone actually saying something good about Maxtor!! Jesus, I've had so many people slate me for get a Maxtor hard drive, and yes some have failed, but so have some Western Digital and Seagate. Maybe more Maxtors have failed than any other but that's because they sell more and so they have a greater fail r ate compared to smaller companies.

Maxtor are awesome, and as alvino said, they were first to come out with the 16Mb cache for people who can't afford the overpriced SCSI hard drives!

It's good...but maybe aupgrading the CPU to an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ would make it better

Maxtor is the third largest hard drive manufacturer behind Western Digital and Seagate. I've had several Maxtors die on me. I will only use Western Digital now. Never had a problem.

i have a 9.3 gb hdd on xp and im doing fine. i could easily fill up 40 though
