Compatability?

I'm looking to purchase a new motherboard for my PC. I have in my current PC, a 2.8GHz Intel Pentium 4. The socket type is mpgA478B. This was replaced (as far as I understand) by the LGA775 socket. Pentium 4 HTs (LGA775s) will fit into my mpgA478B socket (apparantly) but will my mpgA478B Pentium 4 fit into a LGA775 motherboard socket?

Thanks
Nayl.

P.S. The reason for the change is that I just bought an ATI Radeon X800 PRO but my motherboard doesn't have PCI Express x16. Only AGPx8...and my motherboard can only hold 1GB of RAM.

Socket 478? I don't think they are compatible with the LGA775 socket due to the number of pins. LGA775 has 775 pins while socket 478 has 478 pins. Someone correct me if I am way off base. You'll need a new motherboard and CPU, preferably LGA775 compatible with each other.
