dual monitors

ok on my regular day to day pc i want to run dual monitors on it. thing is i dont know how. on my moms labtop there is a monitor input so i can just use the labtop monitor and stuff so what do i do for a desktop do i require a new graphics card?
 
i know that already i just need to know wehre to plug in my second monitor and if i need any extra hardware.
 
You need a video card that has two vga or DVI output. Somthing like this:

cant i just get another vid card that has a regular monitor input and just plug it in from there or no? i dont htink my currnet monitors ahve those kinds of inputs.
 
yeah, you could put another video card in it, I don't see a problem with that. just get a cheap card or something

which one has more bang for the buck? and according to the specifcations i would need a new power supply so i trying to get something no lower than 300 but when i went to go talk to the guy at compaq he said that my motherboard wont accept any other powersupply is this true?

those are my specs for my pc. i just want to maybe play bf2 and definately play some other games. if anyone else has opinions on graphics cards please post.
