Last week I replaced my ATI Radeon 9550 graphics card with a Gainward 6600GT Nvidia card hoping to get a decent performance boost.
Installation went well and I ran 3d Marks 03 and 05. Sure enough the scores were about three times higher.
The problem is, is that in game there doesn't seem to be any difference at all.
When I run Grand Prix 4 which is nearly three years old I can only get 15 frames a second and thats only with medium graphic detail chosen!! Surely this cannot be right?
I have an A7V8X-X motherboard with a AMD Athlon 2600+ chip running at 2.1Ghz. I went into bios and it said that the CPU was running at 133/33. Is this why my pc is lagging so much???
Is it the CPU slowing down my pc? Can I change the settings somehow. Sorry but I don't usually mess around in BIOS so not much experience in changing anything.
Any help/advice appreciated!
