SATA for me. I'll take newer technology any day. Hitachi makes good hard drives.

I like WD HDD's. i would go for the 250GB SATA drive because really are you going to need that extra 50GB.

Take a look at access times and rpm. The faster the rpm and lower the access time, the faster the hard drive.

I'd say there's little difference other than the interface. SATA is easier to install than IDE, but the performance gain is only noticeable in certain tasks.

hardware wise sata may be easier..but software wise IDE is easier.
