These error messages.....

keep popping up on my computer. When I go into the "Add Or Remove" area, in the Control Panel, I can find no references to Intermute or WebUpdate. How can I effectively defeat their occurrances? AVG was uninstalled from my computer just prior to a system restoration, and a host of embedded games (on the recovery) were removed after restoration.

Also, I keep getting periodical notices - via Kaspersky Anti-Hacker - of Helkern (I believe that is the correct spelling) attacks against my system.

Try installing the programs in question then uninstalling them. That should remove their registry entries that, for some reason, didn't get removed from a previous time. Also make sure you have the latest Windows updates.
