Cant use some ports...

Okay, heres the situation. I'm at school on the wireless network. I am unable to use a few applications such as Outlook Express, AIM, FTP, and a few websites such as my web-based email.
Well I think these are all linked to the ports. My web-based email connects to the server via some oddball port, not sure which though.
So I'm concluding that 80 is the only allowed port.
Am I right? If so, is there any way around this, maybe proxy? I dont know, I never used a proxy though.

Well if they have blocked the ports then I don't think that there is a legal way around it. But u could ask them to open some ports, though they prolly won't but u can always ask.

Yeah, that's always an option. I may end up doing that, but I doubt my school will do that.
