sound icon

My sound icon in the taskbar comes and goes. Sometimes it is there when I log on, sometimes it is not. When I go to control panel = sound and select always display the sound icon, nothing happens. My SOUND WORKS FINE. There is absolutely nothing with the sound itself. I can go into the sound system via control panel and change the volume etc. I simply cannot get the icon to always be present in the taskbar. Any ideas?

I used to have that trouble with 98, What are you running? I would say go into control panel, deselect view in taskbar, reboot


when it turns back on, go to control panel, select always view, and reboot again it might work, As is the oddinocity that is Windows
