Installing XP

I need exact foolproof instructions on how to install XP onto my new computer which has a SATA drive. This i a nightmare, i need help please. My drive is not being recognised.

My computer contains the following:

AMD Athlon 64 3000
Gigabyte Triton GA-K8NF-9 M/B
250GB SATA Hard Drive
CD DRIVE
Floppy DRIVE

And im trying to install XP Home Edition onto it.

Oh my god we have like the same motherboard and I think Spank_Fusion as well. He had one hell of a time getting his SATA drive going. I think he said in another thread to disable RAID in the BIOS.

I however, did not disable RAID and kept that running on a single SATA drive. I enabled RAID using the F10 nvidia RAID setup. I may add another drive in the future which is why I enabled it for RAID.

is 500GB worth it... if its used to store music files..?
or is it still too much
