Is my pc going to be REALLY powerful? Start of the art?

What would be better the 250gb hd or the 300gb? Which would be faster?

the memory is pC4200 or PC4300 (does it matter).

What about issues concerning overclocking?

How many fans should i get and where should they go. Will any ATX fan fit?

Is all i really need now sound card video card and some drives and ATX case?

The smaller the drive that faster it will be unless you can set them up as RAID 0. Then you are splitting the data across both drives which increases performance.

I don't beleive your PC is really powerful, but it is a general mid range PC. It's good for most of the stuff you plan on doing, but you have to spend a little more to get that "powerful" name.

As far as memory goes, I'm just reading what's off the website you linked here. It says PC4300, that it support. I don't know all these PC4200 or PC4300 speeds and what Intel is doing. I suppose PC4300 is just a little faster than PC4200?

System fans will vary depending on what case you get. Some case can hold a lot of fans while some are limited to just a rear fan. I would get a case that has a fan on the side panel, two in the rear (2x80mm) or a 120mm fan. A top fan would be nice but you don't really need that.

The motherboard comes with most cables you need to start you off. It's pretty much complete. Zip drives uses the IDE slots on the motherboard while the floppy connection has a dedicated connector usually next to the IDE channels. Most motherboard like yours have integrated sound and they're pretty good. Unless you have extra money to spend, you can get an Audigy 2 sound card. Get a DVD burner. They'll burn DVDs and CDs.

No harddrives go nowhere near the pci slots. U just plug the hdd to the cable (be it IDE of SATA) and u can place it anywhere u like. There is usually a place in the front of the case where u can put the hdd in, but it really doesn't matter where it is. Cd drives and floppy are also attached with the IDE cables.

And about the ram just make sure that the mobo supports it, if u cant find any details u can always email/call the place u are buying them from and ask if they are compatible.

Get an AMD built system, hehe. This can be a matter of personal preference as some people swear by Intel.

But AMD mobos that support AMD doesn't support ddr2 RAM. Isn't it the RAm and processor that make it go fast? Most amd only go at 2.2ghz and intels go at 3ghz + and cheaper! So why is AMD faster can any1 so me a extremly good

Yes, but ddr2 ram is not any magnificent wonder of todays technology, just a little better than the ddr.

U can go with intel if u like, but I wouldn't use the prescott core, it uses lot's of power and runs hot.

those are really good, for lower prices go with a less powerfull CPU, I'd take the X2, but choose the speed that fit's ur budget the best. U can get for example an amd X2 4200+ for under $500.

Also about the ram, I just chose Kingston coz I like it, there are also many other good ram manufacturers.

Not sure about nonECC ram with a mobo that supports ECC.

So they are all compatible? Is it sutible for playin games, browsing internet, programming and things like microsoft office? What is the graphics card slot on mother board and does nybody no a big capicity hard drive to go with it?

When everything is put together do i just insert Window Xp Steup Disk and install it when it's in Bios? Also would it be able to take linux at the same time as windows? Then i'd be able to select s ans startup?
