Can't Access Old Files After Re-Install

I've had loads of problems with my PC recently, so i decided to format my C: drive, which had the Windows installation on, and re-installed it. However, i now have a problem, as i cannot access my documents on the D: drive, as i don't have access rights. Does anyone know how i can access the files? It really is important that i can gain access them, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are u in with an account that has admin rights?

Have you made these folders private specially for an account? If so, then you will never be able to acess them

Will it let you access anything on the D: drive or nothing at all? What error message do you get?

I'm using XP Professional.

I am an administrator, and i cannot access the folders/files in Safe Mode or Normal Mode.

Access is denied."

You probably set it private with another account. I'm afraid these will never be acessible
