So it seems to be fixed. I had to make some adjustments to Cmos to get passed the blue screen of death when I was loading the system. So I went back into cmos and reset to factory defaults. Now it is loading in the expected 2 minutes - I guess I will never know exactly what the problem was. Seems to be fixed though - thanks for all the help.
