I am computer illiterate with this type of stuff, but I just got a new computer and am wondering how to transfer files easily from this one to the new one without a physical cable or disks. Is there any easy way to do that?

Well, you could upload your files to a server and just download them from there on your new comp, but if you have a massive amount of files... yeah... takes a long time. Without burning a disk, backup on an external, or wires (not quite sure what you mean) your best bet would be to set up a network and just connect the two comps and then transfer the files over the network. Hope this helps. :D

well the easiest thing to do is just plug the old hard drive into the new computer and transfer what u want but some other options are burning cds or using a memory stick thing or even an external hard drive

You can buy cheap USB drives now with possibly 256-512 to even 1GB of data which makes it easier to copy data over from computer to computer using the USB interface which all computers should have now, and have for a long time.

Might be worth checking out, as they just slot in, and can simply be taken out and transferred and held in your pocket in the mean time :p

Hope this helps
