Uwave Motherboard ?= compatible graphics card

HI, My computer has had various upgrades over the years but I've never installed a graphics card. The graphics cards that my computer is compatible with are probably at low prices seeing that my computer isn't exactly top shelf anymore. I need to know which graphics cards my motherboard can support and how good the graphics cards are. I'm not exactly sure what is needed to know about my computer but I'll try to included the info for my motherboard and the computer site. Even if my computer can only take old version graphics cards I would still like to know. Thank you.

It can take only AGP 4x cards. I'll try to find a nice one for u.

(the first ones are the most expensive ones, u can also change it to be the other way around. So just chane the pages as long as u find a price range that fits together with your budget.


All of these should be compatible because I used AGP 4x in the search, but you can still check if the card u chose is compatible, but as I said, all of them should be.

your agp 4x slot means you can buy agp cards, which are still pretty good. However, since it is 4x it will not peform to the cards maximum capability. I'm not sure but I do not think that a agp 8x card will work in your motherboard, and if it does it would peform at 4x, so it would be a waste of money really. your best bet is to go with something like a agp card thats 4x/8x, so you can use it in ur computer now, and have it peform at the higher speed if u ever get a newer motherboard with an agp 8x slot.

or if you want a top of the line card (remember you have a 4x slot so it wouldnt peform at its best, but when you swithced to a newer mobo it will peform rather good, and last a fairly long time, and be able to play the latest games for quite some while) This is basically the best card you can get for your system right now from ati:

Graphics card search

Hi again, if I do buy a graphics card it wont be to transfer it to another motherboard later on because that would mean buying new power supply+memory sticks and other things. I could always add it to "the new computer" that I would buy but for now its going to be the cherry on the top...of my pc "The last upgrade".

From what I understand almost all graphics cards are compatible with my pc because the newer ones that are 8X AGP are also 4X AGP. Well if my pc only supports 4X what is being lost when I have a 4X/8X agp card? Is the Memory Clock reduced
The Memory Size
The Memory Interface
or anything else that is important to a graphics card?

Also one thing that i'm curious about is the Memory Type. My computer uses SDRAM memory is there any correlation between this and the type of memory on the graphics card. Also my power supply is 250 Watts.

I have a firewire port for my camcord and i want to be ably to edit the videos with quality and I also want to be able to play top 3D games.

No it wont, 8x is the maximum it can work at. Yours will only be working at 4x.

The memory values should stay the same. And if u are planning on a new vid card u might also need a new PSU since 250W is really weak. Most of the GPUs have a recommendation of atleast 300W PSU.

hm. I would have to get a new PSU...well that makes adding a graphics card a little more difficult.
On another note I was told that an 8x agp card would work but perform at 4x. Maybe I can get a 4x card that doest need extra power, that way I wouldn't need a new power supply unit.

What is the possibility of problems arrising from the use of a 250wat powered computer when 300wats are recomended for a video card?
