Pentium D vs P4

I notice that a 720 P4 is much more expensive than a 820 pentium d. if the pentium d is so much faster, why is it nearly half the price?

Because Intel just slapped 2 crap processors for the Pentium D together and called it a "Dual-Core". Haha, something like that. As for the prices, who knows?

it's a transition thing. when the P4's came out there were still P3's more powerful then it.

720?

Anyway, thing is, Pentium D's run at lower clock speeds, so Intel just want to create a balance, i suppose, in clock speed language. lol

But i think it's mainly because AMD have priced their dual-core line quite highly, so Intel are probably hoping to cash in with a bunch of crap, but i think i'd rather have a single-core than a Pentium D.
