Gaming Comp Buy

Basically, my dad wants to make this computer run a lot faster in games, but not spend like 250$ to do so..
it's got a p4 505 prescott 775 2.66 ghz, 2 gigs corsair pc3200 ram.
it's a powerful box, all it really lacks is a good video card, the fx5200 is one big bottle neck.
but yeah, i'll take a look see about a 256 card, if it's a lot more money though, i'll stick to 128.

there is no 256 meg 6600GT on newegg.

Yeah that's a decent card, to be honest 256 mb is nice but with that card 128 is ample, it'll definately improve your gaming quality.

The 6600GT is definetly a better card than the 256m 6600. GDDR3 memory for the GT and DDR1 for the 6600 and the core clock is 200 Mhz higher on the GT. Go fo the GT. Check the link.

If you're gonna get a 256mb 6600gt, I would just go for a 6800gt. It performs on par, even better in some situations.
