yeah most desktop ram is called non-ECC(although sometimes ECC ram can be run on desktops). servers usually use ECC due to the fact that it is: ECC(Error Correcting Code) ram. So, my ram would most likely not be compatible with your desktop unless the motherboard specifically supports ECC...(might want to check into it).
