I use Windows XP.

When I logon using my screen nane it takes several MINUTES before I can access any programmes. When I logon using other login names it takes several SECONDS.

Any help reducing this time taken would be appreciated.

Thanks.........

Update anti-virus&anti-spyware software -> perform a full system scan with them. Also start -> run, type msconfig and choose the startup tab. Google for all of the programs, if it is a virus or something like that uncheck it. Be very carefull when unchecking, if u uncheck a system process windows might not function properly.

I've run a full system scan and no viruses were found.

At startup in msconfig I have 26 programmes listed. For some reason I can't post an attatchement that shows them. These are the names listed:

'NvCpl', 'nwiz', 'realsched', 'qttask', 'Motive58', 'DAP', 'NvMcTray',
'mcagent', 'mcupdate', 'mcmndlr', 'mcvsshld', 'gcasServ', 'MpfTray',
'iTunesHelper', 'jusched', 'ctfmon', 'msmsgs', 'GoogleDesktop',
'SystemWiper', 'fro', 'RoboTaskBarIcon',
'Adobe Reader Speed Launch', 'broadband medic',
'PCFort Control Panel', 'Rainlender', 'WkCalRem'.

Any of these look suspicious@ can any of these be safely removed?

Cheers.

go to: www.imageshack.us

Host the file and copy the link

Then, go here and use: [/ IMG](The space will be the link) The second space is not there when you do it
There you go :D

yes some of those are things that u won't need. Just go to google and search for everyone of those programs. (just type for example nvcpl.exe [if it's exe]) and one of the top result will tell u what program that is and what does it do.

I did the Google search and cleared a few items. Works a little faster now.

I have noticed that when I check the configsys > startup via other login names on my computer, they seem to have the same entries but can login much fater than me!!

Could there be another reason why it take me several minutes to login??
