What is open GL? I was looking at graphics cards and most had OpenGL 1.5 but some had OpenGL 2.0. Is there a difference between the two?

Edit: Sweet my 100th post

OpenGL 2 is better. It's an industry standard that allows for exchanging 3D data between applications and graphics cards. There are a lot of functions involved in OpenGL that are used to draw complex 3d scenes. It is very popular for gaming use where it competes with Direct3D to accelerate games.

are you sure it wasn't open source? open source is a lot more associated with code and programming then opengl is.

(giggles, i swear to god i just heard someone say fun-dal-ist in a commercial :D )
