my onboard sound? is it any good?

Yes, it's pretty good. They integrated the 24-bit Soundblaster card with your motherboard.

Look into the Logitech speaker systems. They have tons of bass.

I'm more of an over all quality of sound guy... the right amount of bass the right amount of treble.
