Your Dream System?

do you know the titanic movie couldnt afford a supercomputerto render their graphics. so they got some guys to round up every computer in the studios and they assewmbled a linux cluster for a few thousand.

hehe.
awsome huh.

Dream System, Eh? WEEELLLL then:

Dual Hyperthreaded 3.8ghz Dual Core 64bit CPUs
4 Gigs of DDR PC3700 RAM
A few Tbytes of HD space
Audiotrak Prodigy 7.1 Sound Card
Harman Kardon HKTS 14 Speakers
Dual XFX GeForce 7800GTX 256MB Cards
This pretty nice case (or something similar): http://www.alienware.com/sub_pages/alienware_case.aspx
Everything Watercooled (duh!)
And, of course, a decent sized screen would be in order as well:

Oops, nearly forgot Windows Vista Beta (or Windows XP 64) with 64bit processor support

Yup. It's a Rendering Farm. You basically slave and link up every computer to each other. It can even have old processors like the Pentium or Athlon and it'll render faster than most top-of-the-line comptuers today. The plus is that you can salvage for any old computer parts, meaning that that dusty old Pentium w/ MMX Technology of mine won't go to waste.

Wait wait wait... Link linux compy's together eh?... How many pentium 1's do you guys think I can round up? And do you think I could get it to run Neverwinter Nights (dunno if it can even run on linux... but oh well) ;) lmao (i'm serious... I wanna do this now... lol)

A good NWN compy would need something around... 1.5-2.5 ghz processor, 512kb-1024kb cache, 256-1024 ram, 128-256 video card... ya... My compy can't run it worth a damn... Well... it can, i just see like a frame every 2 seconds, it's pretty shit.
