i am thinking about upgrading my video card and it says it is not SLI compatible. what is SLI and is it important?

SLI is basically using two identicle cards to improve performance. If you have an SLI compatable motherboard, or are considering upgrading soon...you may want to look more into it. Try a google search, there's alot about SLI and its applications.

It's latest fashion: two monitors, two processor cores, but benchmarks appart you can do almost the same with one 7800 than two 6600...

My buddy has SLI, and he explains it like this, it is two video cards, and they lead to one monitor, each card does every other line on your computer screen which would obviously lead to a much clearer picture.

Ah no... not two Monitors silly silly :p If you have two Graphics Cards, it practically begs you to have three or four Monitors! :D
