Help with Hard Drive!

Edited.

How come in windows setup for windows 2000 it shows that my 160gb hard drive is only about 130gb?

wow tha is gayness, i have hear of losing like 5 gig but not l30. it may be making a mistake. some things it says it takes like 1 hour to do. but it takes 5 minutes. idk

Yea losing 30 GBs is bad. I mean maybe if were talking a terabyte here but 30 gbs on a 160? I'd call the company. I'm the only one with a HD that excendes what its supposed to be 122 when it supposed tobe a120.

Oh stop it you guys....
all previous window applications have a 137 gig(132)
limit to the harddrived. Not until LBA is enabled or a patch is downloaded will the OS be able to see the whole drive.

The same thing happens in XP except that it is patched with SP1 so most people don't even see it with their install discs.

edit> I recommend that you partition your drives only to around 40 gigs per partition. Nothing less than 10 gigs. Use the hdd utillity to set it up and make the drive active as windows will only allot 4 partitions with the defaulted limits.<
