overclocking help

ok my system is a amd 64 3200+ venice, pc3200 2x512mb corsair ram dual channel, evga 6800gt vid card.

right now i have the cpu at 2.45GHz (245x10) and the ram at 407mhz with the divider set at 333mhz

if i go any higher than that my computer becomes unstable and i dont know why because ive read that people have gotten the 3200+ to 2.8GHz so what am i doing wrong?

one of the problem i think it might be is that it only lets me raise the voltage on the cpu to 1.55V

it says in the motherboard manual that it should go up to 1.65V so i dont know why its doing that

i managed to overclock to 2.6GHz but i had to put the hyper transport multiplyer down from 5x to 2x, will that affect performance in my comp?
