not for gaming. but i get your point, intels are capable of 60+ fps which is all you need, but when your a gamer you want more incase of higher graphic intensive games. dont want your fps dropping below 20

Upgrade it an AthlonX2 and get rid of that bad vibe. My 4800+ can compress 40+ 1GB files while rendering in 3DMAX Studio at high priority and only use 60% CPU power.
 
Depends what you think is a good design for a Dual Core Processor :D

If I was thinking of upgrading, which I am basically, I'd get a 840 and learn how to overclock. I don't think it is dishonourable because it is the best, and the only way you can make it better is to Overclock; and I wouldn't have to put up with AMD :D I'd rather the sheer power of 4 Cores.
 
AMD cpu's are great. but I personally think Intel cpu's are all around better. to bad theres really only 2 companies, I would like more choices.
