No Internet Detection

I recently reinstalled Windows XP on my Dimension Desktop 3000. It doesn't detect an internet Connection when I plug in the ethernet cable connected to my COX Modem. Any idea on how to fix this would be great. Some people said I should reinstall the NIC Driver. Could anyone tell me where i would be able to get these files.

right-click My Computer>>properties>>Hardware Tab>>device manager

Under Network adapters you should see a listing of what adapter you have. Is there a big yellow warning symbol on it? Or a red X? If yellow, driver needs to be installed. If red, you need to enable it.

If you have internet connectivity on another pc, go to the manufacturer's website of the NIC that you're struggling with and download the newest drivers. Or Dell's site ... they should have the drivers, too.
