Intel or AMD

I would get a Intel Pentium 4 HT 3.0 GHz 800 MHz FSB its fast but not really fast for games btw i'm using it and my computer loads up in about 30 seconds.

If you do end up getting an Intel processor, boy oh boy, do I have some RAM for you. Hot of the OCZ technology labs tables, PC6400! This is DDR2 RAM that runs at 800MHz STOCK. Its timings are 5-5-5-10, 1T!! Amazingly fast!

Here it is!

Since the mem clock runs at the exact SAME speed as the FSB of an Intel processor, that means that there is ZERO (0) latency between the two.

Nice! That looks pretty sexy...:p

Because it is... but AMD is still the better choice for several reasons, one of which includes it better 64bit support for the next Windows, LONGHORN. 64bit on Intel is POOR in performance, EM64 was just thrown together to compete. Intel needs to revise it DESPERATELY.

SirVal read before you post. he's going with a intel.

So?What's your point? I was simply showing my opinion, as that IS what the thread is all about.

I read that Windows wasn't gonna utilise 64 bit technology. Darkblade, thanks for all that stuff trying to convince me to get AMD, but my heart is set on Intel. I use more power hungry apps, such as Maya, that barely runs on my laptop, and thats quite good. I have seen the evidence that Intel is better for such programs. Here is they maya site's requirements, I also use loads of other programs that use a lot of CPU power

it needs at least 512 mb RAM, trust me, I tried to run it on a 256mb computer, it just crashed straight away.
I know what I want and that's Intel, thanks for trying to convince me to go for AMD, but I prefer Intel.

Thanks for posting that RAM, might get me some of that, I'm trying to find me some 2gb sticks, I've only got space for 4 modules, lol, its tricky. I need at least 4 1 gig sticks, those are 2x 512. I want 4 gigs, so I have to find some 1 gig sticks, how about this

it could be better I guess, but I've struggled to find anything else, I'm still searching though, my RAM has gotta be good, no second rate c*** for me thankyouverymuch
