I dont know What a 3400 amd Athlon 64 bit compares to in INTEL if you know please post saying about what this would equal

generally its compared to a 3.4 ghz P4 w/hyperthreading i imagine, but for games the 3400 will treat you MUCH nicer

Yes, the numbers in AMD processor names are for reference speeds. AMD's processors typically run physically slower than Intel's, but they are more efficient. Basically, it's like nick said. 3400 means it runs roughly equivalent to a 3.4GHz Pentium.

so would that mean a 3000+ is equivalent to a p4 3.0 w/HT

Correct. It is called the P4 scale. That means that an AMD ATHLONX2 4400+ is equal to TWO 4.4GHz Pentium4s with HT running together.

so like if you have an 2800.+ you just move the decimal place 3 over to the left, ?? kind of?
wat about an XP 3400+ wat is taht equivalent too?
other then a 64 3200+? they both have 2.2 so does that mean they both equal 3.2

lets say you OCed a 3000+ from 2.0 ghz to 2.2 does that make it =3.2? or 3.3 or 3.4 or what?

well...2.0=3.0 so there is a speed differential...but how much of a speed differentiall...you see what im saying?
