okaly dokaly, heres the parts im gonna use to build my uber cheap, yet decent computer. note these are all refurbished (any1 use refurbished items from newegg? if so, do they usually work?)

aaannnnddd then power supply, mouse, keyboard, speakers, monitor, printer, cables, cooling, whatever. totals (without power supply, etc) 384.38 w/o taxes... SWEET! lol are they all compatible though?

Hmmm, are you going to want to play games? Cause if so, i'd advise you to look at a more powerful card.
Everything seems to be compatible, make sure your powersupply matches the pins on the motherboard, i.e 20 or 24 pin.

Edit: Also maybe you should take a look at the AMD 64 proccessors, the 3000+ has come down alot in price and its a great piece of work.

which is better amd or intel? i always was an intel fan, i never tried amd. dont think i'll play many games on the computer, maybe world of warcraft if any... mostly sko0l (wuz a typo but OMG SO 1337!!!!11!!1!1122!111oneone) work, programming, media center.

Intel=Multitasking

Both can do both, one does each better.

They do say AMD is better for hardcore gaming, but for a bit of light WoW an Intel should be fine (I run BF2 on my Intel, amongst other games - I don't notice any real problems/difference).

I agree - choose a better GFX card.

Ah my dear sir AMD owns Intel in all aspects. Also get retail version. I assure much less headache for a computer bucks more. And any vid card that costs 150 bucks or more will be good for your needs. Also epox mobos rule. ASUS is a good brand as well. But I perfer epox.

alrity then, i'll get the intel retail version. im a little under budget so i dont think i'll get an asus, chaintechs got a good one for a low price on tigerdirect. its one of the top sellers. also, video card: again, under budget, during the years ahead ill upgrade it, not now, only got 700 to spend (well, i can stretch it a lil 4 mouse, keyboard, etc.)
