I don't know if every HDD company does that but western digital and maxtor do.

I reformatted my comp. Well its a 120 GB. It has 122 GBs of space.

I have never heard of a HDD going above what they say the HDD storage is,weird.

Yup dunno. Its only 2 GBs. And most i've ever used was well 70 or 80 GIGs. My collections of music, and games were HUGE! HAD A LOT OF MOVIES

a lot of hdd are actually sized a little bigger than it is listed as having. This is taken up by what is termed as" lead "in. This is the same as the burn in and lead spaces on an audio CD. The difference being that the system builders are now utilizing this space for thier systems bios and signatures and information pages and the likes and when they get through then you have the amount that was advertised. In your case you get to access that much more form it.
